TORGJ is committed to reducing financial barriers to scientific publishing while sustaining high-quality open-access editorial and production processes.

Authors who are not registered members of The Operating Room Global are required to pay the applicable Article Processing Charge (APC) after their manuscript has been formally accepted for publication.

There is no charge to submit a manuscript.
Standard peer review does not attract a separate fee.
Standard formatting, DOI assignment, and open-access hosting are included in the publication process.
APCs for non-members are tiered by eligible country-income grouping.
Non-members may apply for one APC waiver per calendar year, subject to eligibility, editorial approval, and funding availability.

Figures, Tables & References

High-quality figures, editable tables, accurate citations, and consistent referencing are essential for clear scientific communication and efficient editorial production.

Figures & Tables

All figures and tables should be clear, relevant, appropriately labelled, and cited within the manuscript in the order in which they appear.

Figures should be provided in high resolution of at least 300 dpi.
Accepted figure formats are JPEG or PNG.

Eligible manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review by independent reviewers with relevant subject expertise.

Ethical Considerations

Research Involving Humans, Animals, Trials & Reviews

Authors should provide all applicable ethical, governance, consent, and registration information within the manuscript and submission materials.

Research involving human participants should include the name of the approving ethics committee or IRB, approval/reference number where available, and confirmation of appropriate ethical approval.
Informed consent should be obtained where required, including for identifiable patient information, images, or case reports.
Clinical trials should include appropriate prospective registration information where applicable.
Systematic reviews and related evidence syntheses should provide registration details where applicable.
Animal research should comply with relevant institutional, national, and internationally accepted animal-welfare and research-ethics standards.
Authors should disclose funding sources, conflicts of interest, and any other relevant relationships that may influence the work.

Authorship & Contributions

TORGJ expects authorship to reflect substantial scholarly contribution, accountability, and approval of the final work.

Authors should meet recognised ICMJE authorship criteria.
All authors must approve the final submitted manuscript.
All authors should accept accountability for the integrity of the work.
Contributions should be described transparently.
Use of the CRediT contributor taxonomy is encouraged where appropriate.
Guest, honorary, and ghost authorship are not acceptable.

Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass initial editorial assessment proceed through TORGJ’s structured double-blind peer-review process.

Double-blind peer review is used.
Manuscripts are reviewed by at least two independent reviewers where applicable.
Reviewers are selected on the basis of relevant expertise.
Authors receive reviewer and editorial feedback where revision is required.
Revised manuscripts may be returned to reviewers where necessary.
Final publication decisions remain with the editorial team.

Following editorial assessment and peer review, authors may receive one of several standard decisions depending on the quality, relevance, and revision needs of the manuscript.
