As we present Volume 2, Issue 1 of The Operating Room Global Journal, we continue our commitment to advancing surgical and perioperative care through evidence, innovation, responsible practice, and patient-centred health systems.

Surgical and perioperative care across the globe is evolving rapidly. Innovation, data, and technology continue to transform how we diagnose, treat, and heal. Yet progress must remain grounded in safety, ethical responsibility, equity, sustainability, and the realities of the health systems in which care is delivered.

The scholarship represented in this issue reflects the breadth of contemporary perioperative and surgical practice. Contributions examine perioperative nursing assessment and anxiety, predictors of keloid recurrence, cancer-surgery pain management, operating-room distractions, wound-closure techniques, regenerative aesthetics, preoperative nursing visits, high-dose interleukin-2, and challenging surgical case presentations.

Together, these articles reinforce the importance of combining clinical expertise with systems improvement and patient-centred thinking. Better outcomes depend not only on technical competence, but also on effective processes, informed decision-making, multidisciplinary collaboration, responsible innovation, and attention to the individual experience of patients throughout the surgical journey.

The diversity of disciplines, settings, methodologies, and perspectives represented here remains central to the mission of The Operating Room Global Journal. Through international scholarship, TORGJ seeks to support meaningful dialogue and practical improvement across surgical, perioperative, anaesthetic, nursing, allied health, educational, and health-system environments.
